What do you give a Soldier for Christmas? Or really any holiday during the winter season? I put together an ultimate gift guide for female Soldiers to help ease the stress of gift giving when it comes to our sisters-in-arms.
Some of the links below are affiliate links. This means that, at zero cost to you, I will earn an affiliate commission if you click through the link and make a purchase.
For this gift guide, I have it broken down by personality types.
The Pretty Professional
These products serve as both stocking stuffers or gifts.
First up is a scalp massager. This is an item that you didn’t know you needed. If you read my article on how to stimulate hair growth, then I suggest you click on over and find out why I recommend this low hanging fruit.
It will literally take your shampoo and condition lather game up to another level. Surprisingly it actually feels really good using this scalp massager, because usually self given massages aren’t as good.
Next, we have tinted Chapstick. I really like the actual Chapstick brand’s colors for their tinted balms. They’re pretty versatile and help maintain that natural look while in uniform.
When the shade wears off, you’re not left with any weird outline on your lips. It’s easy to apply without using a mirror and it’s virtually impossible to overdo it, so you won’t need to worry that you went a little heavy on the coverage.
Plus, I’ve never had to wipe the balm off my teeth throughout the day. Therefore no embarrassing stains on your teeth while you’re giving a brief.
Essie has some amazing neutral shades of nail polish. Nail polish can add a modest flair to your overall appearance in uniform.
Urban decay has the most perfect mini neutral palette. These shades add a nice pop of color to any skin tone. They won’t leave you with a dramatic look, so you won’t need to worry about anyone trying to AR 670-1 you on the way to the PX.
Earrings! I think Amazon was busy once that new ALARACT came out allowing females to wear earrings in uniform. I love these earrings from Amazon because they are allergy friendly and I have extremely sensitive ears.
Army Prinncess Collection has a wide array of makeup and their most popular one is this lip gloss. If you or someone you know is partial to lip gloss, you have to check out her shop.
Plus, it’s veteran owned and operated!
The Chairborne Ranger
Raise your hand if you’re living your best Army life behind a computer desk! These are just a few items that I’ve found extremely handy as a chairborne ranger myself 😛
Sticky notes…gotta love ’em! This book of sticky notes offers different formats for notetaking, identifying areas on a form for signature, or just simple every day office reminders.
When you do a lot of typing and clicking over the years, you will start to develop pain in your hands and wrists. Carpal tunnel comes with the territory. Gifting an ergonomic mousepad and keyboard lets your loved one know you care about their comfort and health.
I don’t know any female Soldier that works at a desk who doesn’t own a wax warmer. If you have a fellow sister-in-arms that already has a wax melting device, then gifting different scents is such a great idea! I could spend hours sniffing away at the wax melts in the Scentsy aisles of my local Walmart.
Pro tip for wax melt shopping: choose subtle scents because some of us have sensitive sinuses.
I’ve seen Soldiers who have portable USB CAC readers and they are pretty nifty gadgets! Paired with the next item on my gift guide, it’s a match made in Heaven for the constantly TDY personnel.
Lepow has a phenomenal portable monitor that is a must have! I used to have a cart that I toted around with me to carry an extra monitor when I was conducting SRPs, SAV, OIPs, etc in other buildings/locations. Then my significant other gifted me this portable monitor and it is a game changer!
This portable monitor looks like a large iPad and it tucks discreetly into my backpack right alongside my laptop. It does not need an extra power source, because it hooks up to your laptop through a couple cables. So you won’t have to worry about charging a battery and whatnot.
I constantly get compliments on my Lepow portable monitor and I really have nothing negative to say about it either!
Last but not least, a pocket planner! Think of how often we need
to take notes in the Army. It just makes sense to carry a pocket planner and this one from Amazon is super cute.
I prefer my planners dated, because I refer to Julian dates for orders and such; however, gifting an undated planner gives the freedom for the receiver to start using it whenever without having to waste a few months if they received it later in the year.
The PT Stud
If you haven’t noticed the theme of practical gifts throughout my gift guide, then you haven’t been paying attention. Soldiers have the tendency to move around a lot, so they can’t afford to collect items that have the potential to collect dust overtime and create unnecessary burden when it comes to packing it up each time they PCS.
First up on this segment of the list is a personalized water bottle. The Army has a famous adage, “Drink water!” and now that I’m a little older I understand that it really does make sense haha.
Personalized gifts are truly thoughtful and something she can tote around at the gym or during PT that shows a little bit of her personality.
Wireless headphones are perfect for any workout routines because you don’t have to worry about tripping/catching the wire on anything. These wireless headphones are trendy and functional. With all the hearing loss we experience in the military the last thing we need is willingly stuff ear buds into our ears blasting music causing more damage.
A functional gym bag is great for Swoldiers (yes..that was a pun :-P). This gym bag has a pocket for water bottles, the main clothes section, and a pocket for shoes completely separate from the rest.
Deodorizing shoe balls make a great stocking stuffer and they come in a variety of colors/designs. Nobody likes sticky shoes and lets be honest, shoes have the tendency to collect funky smells over time. I own a few of these and I switch out mine between my boots and tennis shoes.
Last but not least on the list is a kettlebell! Kettlebells are such a versatile and minimalist tool for staying in shape.
Plus, it’s a great addition or even start to creating your own home gym.
I hope you enjoyed this holiday gift guide for female Soldiers that I put together. I realize it’s not entirely accurate to lump personalities into separate sections, because there are definitely items on each of these lists that I love!
Maybe this gave you ideas if you have a fellow sister-in-arms that you’re shopping for or have a significant other that’s wracking their brains on what to get you this year.
Happy Holidays!
